Het moment dat de pup bij u komt wonen is gelijk de meest gevoelige periode van zijn leventje. Deze periode noemen wij de socialisatiefase. In deze periode moet de pup de rest van de buitenwereld als normaal gaan beschouwen. Alle indrukken die de pup hier op doet zullen de rest van zijn leventje beïnvloeden. Het is dan ook van groot belang dat u precies weet wat u moet doen. Een fout in deze periode kan grote gevolgen hebben voor de toekomst. Een vervelende ervaring met andere honden kan er voor zorgen dat uw hond altijd angstig of juist agressief zal zijn naar soortgenoten. Een foutje in de zindelijkheidstraining maken kan juist een onzindelijke hond creëren. Een te grote stap tijdens het alleen leren zijn, kan verlatingsangst in de toekomst in de hand werken. Dit zijn maar enkele voorbeelden van problemen waarbij de grondslag vaak ligt in de eerste levensweken van de hond. Reden te meer om optimale begeleiding te regelen! En wel zo vroeg mogelijk, zodat u de socialisatieperiode (van 8-12 weken) zo optimaal mogelijk kunt benutten. Pups zijn daarom al welkom vanaf 8 weken mits geënt volgens schema van de dierenarts!

Onze puppycursus bestaat uit 2 uitgebreide theorieles waarin alle ruimte is om de vele vragen die u heeft beantwoord te krijgen. Zindelijkheidstraining, benchtraining, leren alleen blijven, hoe ga je om met het bijtgedrag van je pup…..het komt allemaal voorbij. De doelstelling van deze les is dat u de deur uitstapt met het gevoel: “Kom maar op pup, ik ben er klaar voor!”
Daarna pakken we in 8 praktijklessen vooral eerst het opvoedkundige stukje mee. Leren netjes meewandelen, niet eten van straat, niet opspringen tegen bezoek, voorzichtig zijn met die tandjes, iets teruggeven dat je gepikt hebt……en natuurlijk komen als je geroepen word. We leren de baasjes de lichaamstaal van de pup goed te observeren en begrijpen zodat u in het socialisatietraject precies kunt inschatten wat uw pup nodig heeft.
Socialiseren op andere honden is één van de allerbelangrijkste leerervaringen bij een pup en moet uiterst zorgvuldig gedaan worden. Zeker puppy’s moeten onder begeleiding van een deskundig instructeur in contact gebracht worden met soortgenoten. Want de ervaringen in de socialisatiefase bepalen zijn reactie op soortgenoten voor de rest van zijn leven.
Dit is een taak die wij dan ook uiterst serieus nemen. We leren de baasjes aan de hand van de lichaamstaal van hun pup zien wanneer een contact positief is en wanneer je moet ingrijpen.
Hoe kun je je pup steun geven als hij dit nodig heeft, mag optillen nu wel of niet? Wat voor type hond heeft mijn pup nodig om goed op te socialiseren?
Omdat pups elkaar niet kunnen opvoeden kan het zijn dat er ook sociale volwassen honden bij de pups gebruikt worden die gedrag wel mooi kunnen bijsturen.
